Chelsea thrashed 4-1 by Celtic in Notre Dame friendly
Chelsea suffered a 4-1 pre-season friendly defeat to Celtic in Notre Dame on Wednesday night.
The Blues, who are still adjusting to life under new manager Enzo Maresca, were outplayed by the Scottish champions and never really looked like getting back into the game.
Celtic took the lead through Odsonne Edouard in the 15th minute, and doubled their advantage through James Forrest just two minutes later.
Chelsea pulled one back through Armando Broja in the 30th minute, but Celtic restored their two-goal lead through David Turnbull in the 55th minute.
The Blues were then reduced to 10 men when Ethan Ampadu was sent off for a second bookable offence, and Celtic took advantage to score a fourth goal through Mohamed Elyounoussi in the 72nd minute.
The defeat was Chelsea's third in pre-season, and they will be hoping to improve their form when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in their next friendly on Saturday.
