Paris Saint-Germain secured a comfortable victory over Lorient in the French Ligue 1, extending their dominance at the summit. The match, played at the Stade du Moustoir in Lorient, saw PSG showcase their attacking prowess, with braces from Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé sealing the triumph.
Despite Lorient's early attempts to press, PSG remained composed and gradually asserted their control over the game. The visitors broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Mbappé latched onto a through ball and slotted it past the Lorient goalkeeper. Minutes later, Dembélé doubled the lead with a stunning long-range effort that left Lorient hapless.
Lorient managed to pull one back in the second half through a penalty converted by Julien Laporte, but PSG responded immediately. The victory cements PSG's position at the top of the Ligue 1 table, as they continue their pursuit of a record-extending 10th league title. Lorient, on the other hand, are left to rue missed chances and a gulf in class that proved too insurmountable on the night.
