American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at Syracuse Airport

Passengers and Crew Safe After Incident

An American Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Syracuse Hancock International Airport on Wednesday afternoon due to smoke in the cabin.

American Airlines flight 5715, which was traveling from Boston to Rochester, landed safely in Syracuse around 3:20 p.m.

The plane taxied to the gate without incident, and all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated.

  • The cause of the smoke is still under investigation.
  • There were no reports of injuries.
  • The passengers were accommodated on a later flight to Rochester.

American Airlines released a statement saying that the airline is "aware of the incident and is working to accommodate affected customers."

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is also investigating the incident.
