Starliner prepares for historic astronaut flight

NASA confirms May 6 launch date

Collaboration with United Launch Alliance

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is cleared for launch this spring, marking a significant milestone in the company's partnership with NASA. The Crewed Flight Test, initially scheduled for May 6, 2024, will carry NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket.

This mission, the first to carry astronauts on the Starliner, will evaluate the spacecraft's systems and its ability to dock with the International Space Station. The successful completion of this flight test will pave the way for regular crewed missions to the ISS, providing essential transportation services for NASA.

The collaboration between Boeing and United Launch Alliance underscores the importance of partnerships within the aerospace industry. United Launch Alliance's expertise in launch vehicle systems will ensure the safe and reliable delivery of the Starliner and its crew to orbit. The Starliner program has also generated significant economic impact across the United States, with more than 425 suppliers in 37 states contributing to its development.
